Hello again it is.
5 years ago, I started learning Japanese. 3 years ago, I started learning Python, R, Data science.
I have worked 2 years using Japanese and using Python, R and analysis whenever I had the change (which was not much).
I have now reached a roadblock. Whatever level I am at right now is not good enough to be at ease at work and enjoy what I am doing.
So time to go into ronin mode.
Ronin is what Japanese call students who failed the entrance exam to their target university and who spend the following year studying like crazy to pass.
So, let’s be concrete, let’s talk about goals:
- Japanese: take (for the 4th time) the JLPT N1 (advanced level, necessary to work in Japanese companies)
- Python: go beyond basic scripting / cleaning
- Scikit Learn
- Tensor Flow and Keras (have had a few projects in mind for way too long)
- R: get at ease
- finish the 30 days map challenge
- Shiny?
- RMarkdown / RBlogdown
- Analysis / Generic Analysis skills
- Network analysis
- Bayesian statistics
- Design: get beyond ggplot() + theme_economist()
- Production:
- deliver one project per month (analysis / model), with its blog post (which is harder than naming a variable for me)
- Put a front end whenever possible (Shiny, AWS…)
Oh, and finish the books I bought along the way but never finished because life (and conflicting work priorities) happened
Let’s go
